Your lungs and respiratory system play a key role in your athletic performance.
A clean respiratory system allows for improved lung function, clearer airways and increased oxygen intake.
Many professional and amateur athletes have incorporated salt therapy into their training and recovery regime.
When dry salt is inhaled deep into the lungs, it lines the walls of the airways – to relieve congestion, inflammation and allergies of the airways.
This creates a cleaner respiratory system, which promotesclearer airways, easier breathing and increased oxygen intake.
These vital performance enhancers are what help you run faster, increase your stamina and raise your energy levels.
Salt therapy is also relaxing, laying the foundations for high quality sleep and recovery. Read more about salt therapy and sleep.

“I am very confident that my aerobic capacity has increased due to my lungs feeling clear, giving me the ability to push myself harder and become much stronger”
Just a quick thank you letter in regards to the benefits and relief I have had since attending salt therapy.
As you are aware I’m a professional athlete, and the importance of my body and health being at the top level and healthy is crucial.
Since I’ve been using the salt rooms I have noticed a huge decrease in the amount of times per day I would use my Ventolin for my mild case of asthma, and now I don’t use it at all. I’ve also found in my nine years of being a professional athlete that I was highly susceptible to colds, flus and chesty coughing, and would usually struggle to shake it as our training demands are so high with not much time to rest. After trying the salt rooms I have not had these issues, allowing me to stay on the track longer and play and train at maximum level.
I am also very confident that my aerobic capacity has increased due to my lungs feeling clear, giving me the ability to push myself harder and become much stronger.
“I can certainly say that Salt Therapy had a noticeable effect on the players during this successful season”
As the Head of Sports Science at the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club, I tested Salt Therapy on some of our players who suffer badly from sinusitis, hay fever and asthma.
During our Premiership winning season in 2012, we utilised the therapy for player’s relief from these conditions, but also recovery sessions, and after interstate travel.
I can certainly say that Salt Therapy had a noticeable effect on the players during this successful season.
“I completed a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp, and not once did my asthma return”
For my entire life I have suffered from asthma. Luckily one night, a family member recommended that I should try salt therapy.
I maintained a routine which included 45 minutes of salt therapy most days a week. For the first time in my adult life I could breathe without shortness or the asthmatic wheeze.
In February 2017, I completed a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp, which was a round trip of 150km at high altitude, and not once did my asthma return.
